Baby Blues Tincture

Baby Blues Tincture

Shatavari · Holy Basil · Reishi · Saffron · 50ml

The weeks after birth can bring huge emotional changes. Hormones are shifting, sleep is broken, your body is recovering, and you may feel flat, tearful, anxious, overwhelmed or simply unlike yourself. You are not alone in this, and you deserve support.

Baby Blues is a four-herb tincture drawn from Ayurvedic, Chinese and Persian herbal traditions. Shatavari, Holy Basil, Reishi and Saffron are each traditionally used to nourish the nervous system, lift the spirit and bring a little more steadiness to the emotional rollercoaster of early motherhood.

Not a quick fix. A daily thread of gold through the tender weeks.

WHAT’S INSIDE

Shatavari · The Nourisher
Ayurveda’s most treasured herb for new mothers. Traditionally used to replenish and restore a woman through the hormonal shifts after birth.

Holy Basil · The Spirit Lifter
Also known as Tulsi, the sacred herb of India. Traditionally used to lift low spirits, bring mental clarity and help the body cope with stress.

Reishi · The Grounder
Revered in Chinese tradition as the mushroom that calms the spirit. Traditionally used for calm, resilience and emotional steadiness.

Saffron · The Golden Thread
Prized for centuries in Persian and Ayurvedic tradition as the herb of joy. Traditionally used to brighten the mood, and saffron has drawn growing scientific interest for its role in emotional wellbeing.

WHY MAMAS CHOOSE IT

• Made for the flat, teary, overwhelmed days after birth
• Four traditional herbs for emotional balance and a brighter mood
• Nourishes a nervous system stretched thin by broken sleep
• Gentle daily support for steadiness and resilience
• Easy pump bottle for simple daily use

HOW TO USE

Take 3 pumps (1ml) under the tongue or in a little warm water, warm milk or juice, 1 to 3 times daily, ideally 30 minutes before meals. In Ayurveda, Shatavari is traditionally taken with warm milk, so this can become a small nourishing ritual just for you.

Be patient with yourself and the herbs. These herbs work gently and build over time, so give Baby Blues 2 to 4 weeks of steady use to feel its full support.

YOUR RHYTHM

Take daily through your first 42 days, the sacred window of rest and recovery. After that, move to 5 days on and 2 days off, and give yourself a full week’s break every 2 months. This gentle rhythm keeps the herbs working beautifully with your body.

A gentle note. The baby blues are very common in the first two weeks after birth. If low mood, anxiety or tearfulness lasts longer than two weeks, feels heavy or is getting worse, or if you have thoughts of harming yourself or your baby, please speak to your doctor or midwife straight away. You can also email Holly at nourish@mothermoon.co.za for trusted referrals. Baby Blues is gentle herbal support, not a replacement for care. You deserve to be held.

If you take antidepressants, blood thinners or any prescribed medication, speak with your doctor before use, and never stop or change medication without their guidance. Please also check with your healthcare provider if you are still bleeding heavily after birth. Avoid if allergic to asparagus. Not recommended during pregnancy. Keep out of reach of children.

Ask the Herbalist

Is it safe while breastfeeding? These herbs are generally well tolerated while breastfeeding, and Shatavari is traditionally given to breastfeeding mothers. If you have a hormone-sensitive condition or are under medical care, check with your healthcare provider first.

How soon will I notice a difference? Herbs work gently and build over time. Many mamas notice a shift within two to four weeks of daily use.

Can I take it with antidepressants? Please speak to your doctor first. Holy Basil and Saffron may interact with some medications, and never stop or change prescribed medication without your doctor's guidance.

Is it a replacement for professional support? No. Baby Blues is gentle daily herbal support, not a substitute for medical or psychological care. If you're struggling, please reach out to your healthcare provider. You deserve the full village.
