Even with my nutrition background, and spending 9 months of my pregnancy learning about matrescence and postpartum. And filling a chest freezer with my meal prepping, I still transitioned into motherhood depleted.

I was lost, It was during the hard lockdown of COVID, so my resources were limited and my whole village was overseas, so I had to think outside the box and create my own.

Nothing prepares you for the lack of free time (and hands) when you have a newborn. Even the simple task of nourishing yourself becomes almost impossible.

What I was craving was an easy but impactful way to help nourish my body, and in turn my newborn.

Because there was nothing on the market that I would happily pay money for, so I created my own - It was simple! I used all my creative energy (which the distraction was welcomed during the dark postpartum stages) into making the perfect healthy lactation cookie.

And being the natural nurturer that I am, the cookies were shared between friends afar, and then further out to the community - and now proudly supporting Mommies all over South Africa!

I became the support system that I didn't have and Mother Moon products are reflective of that. It's a way for mothers to feel like they doing something for themselves and that they're filling their own cup (with delicious healthy biscuits and lattes!).
