Mother Moon was born from depletion. Not from a business plan or a gap in the market — from a mother sitting in the middle of a COVID lockdown, weeks postpartum, with a freezer full of meal prep she had made with her own hands and still feeling completely, utterly hollow. That mother was me.

My Journey

I had spent nine months preparing. I had the nutrition background. I had read everything I could find about matrescence and the fourth trimester. I had the frozen meals, the good intentions, and the deep belief that I was ready. And I still crossed into motherhood running on empty, with my entire village on the other side of the world and a newborn who needed everything I had left.

Nothing prepares you for that.

What I was craving was simple — an easy, impactful, truly nourishing way to fill my own cup while I was pouring myself into someone else. And because there was nothing on the market I would happily put in my body, I made my own.

It started with a lactation cookie. Made in my kitchen, shared with friends, and slowly — one mama at a time — finding its way across South Africa.

That cookie became Titscuits. And Titscuits became Mother Moon.

My Vision

My vision is for every mother to know that deep postpartum nourishment and support is available to her — not as a luxury, but as a right.

I am Holly — Ayurvedic Postpartum Doula, Herbalist and Postpartum Nutrition Practitioner. Everything I make is grounded in one belief: the postpartum period is not something to get through. It is something to be held through.

Every Mother Moon product is packed with care by the Joyce Chevalier Centre — a disability employment centre in Cape Town. And through our Buy a Bag, Hold a Mama programme, R10 from every bag of Titscuits sold goes to the Tula Baba Foundation.
