Nervous System & Postpartum Calm Tincture

The fourth trimester asks everything of you — and your nervous system feels every bit of it. The sleeplessness, the hormonal shift, the tender enormity of new motherhood. Peace Out Mama was made for this exact season.

A deeply Ayurvedic blend of four carefully chosen herbs, this tincture works with your nervous system, not against it — building calm from the inside out, steadying the emotional tides, and restoring the resilience that postpartum depletion quietly takes away.

Not a sedative. Not something that makes you fuzzy or slow. This is alert, grounded calm — the kind that lets you actually be present in early motherhood. Gentle enough for daily ritual. Effective enough to actually notice the difference.

WHAT’S INSIDE

Ashwagandha
The great Ayurvedic adaptogen — grounding, restoring, strengthening. Ashwagandha has been prescribed to new mothers in Ayurvedic tradition for centuries. It works directly on the body’s stress response system to lower cortisol, calm the frayed nervous system, and support the adrenal fatigue that comes with round-the-clock mothering. Deeply restorative, it builds resilience over time rather than masking symptoms.

Lemon Balm
Uplifting, calming, and completely non-sedating. Lemon Balm eases nervous tension and mental restlessness without any drowsiness — you’ll feel calmer and clearer, not foggy. Her gentle uplifting quality makes her the perfect daytime companion for anxious new mamas, and she’s been used for mood and nervous system support in herbal traditions since antiquity.

Shatavari
The nurturer — addressing the hormonal root of postpartum anxiety. In Ayurveda, Shatavari is the great postpartum restorer — prescribed to nourish and replenish the feminine body after the depletion of birth. Her phytoestrogenic compounds help steady the postpartum hormone crash that underlies so much of the anxiety, emotional instability, and low mood new mamas experience. She doesn’t just calm the symptoms — she supports the root cause.

Motherwort
Named for mothers. Made for this season. A nervine and cardiac tonic in one, Motherwort eases the heart palpitations many new mamas experience, steadies anxiety, and supports uterine healing all at once. Used in postpartum care across herbal traditions for centuries — and her name is no accident.

Ask the Herbalist

Q: Will this make me sleepy? Sedate me?

A: No there is no sedative herbs in this blend. It will however gently calm and take the edge away from anxiety.

Q: I don't drink alcohol, do you have an alcohol free version?

A: We use alcohol to extract the powerful healing constitutes from the herbs as we believe and have been taught that this is the most effective method. You can however dilute the tincture in a cup of hot water. This method helps evaporate most of the alcohol while still preserving the tincture’s beneficial properties. Let it sit for a few minutes before drinking.

Q: I feel I could use some more support; can this be taken with other Mother Moon products?

A: Yes, all Mother Moon products are safe to take together. They should be taken 30 minutes before meals with as little water as possible for best results.

Q: Can I mix this with juice or a smoothie?

A: All of our tinctures can be taken sublingually (under the tongue), direct orally, or in juice, water, smoothies, applesauce, etc. except for Digest-Support which must be taken alone with water prior to a meal.

Q: There is sediment at the bottom of my tincture bottle or discoloration of the dropper; what is it?

A: Since our products are made from herbs, sometimes herbal sediment isn’t completely strained. Chances are, if you notice any sediment at the bottom of the bottle or discolouration at the tip of the dropper, it’s from the herbs.
