Making gut-loving, healing gummies with herbal tea

Making gut-loving, healing gummies with herbal tea

Holly here, the Mom and heart behind this beautiful brand Mother Moon.

I am in a predicament as I have so many delicious healing formulations that I want to make available to you mamas, but its not as easy as just packaging them up and putting them up on the website. There is a-lot that goes in and behind the scenes to get a product on the market for you.

So all in good time, and at the right time they will come into fruition and be available over the upcoming year.

But for now I am beyond excited to introduce our newest member to the Mother Moon range, a pregnancy safe blend - Bloom Pregnancy Tea!

You asked, and we listened!

Inspired by all the beautiful pregnant fairies blooming at the moment, it is a delicious blend of: lemon balm, nettles, oat straw, chamomile, red raspberry, rose hips, rose and peppermint.

Every herb chosen specifically to help support you through your pregnancy,

Lemon Balm: known for its calming and soothing properties. It helps alleviate anxiety and promotes relaxation, which can be beneficial for pregnant women experiencing stress or difficulty sleeping.

Nettles: rich in vitamins and minerals, including iron and calcium, which are essential for pregnant women. Drinking nettle tea may help support overall health and well-being during pregnancy and can potentially alleviate symptoms such as leg cramps and fatigue.

Oat Straw: believed to have a calming effect on the nervous system and may help reduce anxiety and stress. It's also rich in nutrients like calcium and magnesium, which are important for bone health and muscle function.

Chamomile: well-known for its calming and digestive properties. Drinking chamomile tea may help relieve nausea, indigestion, and insomnia, which are common discomforts during pregnancy.

Red Raspberry: recommended to help tone the uterus and prepare for labor. It's believed to support uterine health and may help shorten labor duration and reduce the likelihood of interventions.

Rose Hips: high in vitamin C and other antioxidants, which can help boost the immune system and support overall health during pregnancy.

Rose: Rose is a true ally for the feminine psyche. Used in teas for their calming and uplifting properties. Drinking rose tea may help reduce stress and anxiety and promote relaxation during pregnancy.

Peppermint: known for its ability to soothe digestive discomfort, such as nausea and bloating, which are common symptoms during pregnancy. It can also help alleviate headaches and promote relaxation.

One way we love to enjoy the benefits of this herbal blend is to make it into gummies, which I have found the kiddies love too! Great for tissue and gut repair they make a great healthy snack for the whole family.

Gut Loving Herbal Gummies:

  • 200 ml brewed Mother Moon Bloom Pregnancy Tea (I brew for at least 10 minutes)
  • 200 ml fresh juice of your choice  (beetroot, apple, pomegrante work great)
  • TBSP gelatin (grass-fed pasture raised is best, you can buy here)

  1. Add the liquids to a saucepan and sprinkle over the gelatin
  2. Wait a few minutes and allow the mixture to ‘bloom’ - Blooming involves pre-softening the gelatin to facilitate its smooth dissolution and prevent the formation of clumps. During this process, the gelatin will appear slightly wrinkled and thicken slightly.
  3. Place the saucepan on a low heat and stir often until the gelatin is dissolved (should take a couple of minutes).
  4. Place into moulds of choice - you can use silicone moulds, glass containers or a container lined with baking paper. For young babies set in a small glass rectangular dish then cut to safe finger sized shapes to serve.
  5. Refrigerate until set - at-least 2 hours usually.

AGE APPROPRIATE: 6 months +
Notes: They should last about 3 days in the fridge.
